Job Location: 100% remote (with the option to work in an office in Atlanta, GA)

HYPE is a nonprofit on the move, empowering girls of color with the STEM skills they need to thrive. We’re looking for a Marketing Communications Manager to elevate our brand, expand our reach, and engage key audiences. This role is perfect for someone who wants to lead and grow—balancing big-picture strategy with hands-on execution.
As Marketing Communications Manager, you’ll develop and implement marketing strategies that create a compelling and consistent brand experience across web, social media, email, events, and public relations. You’ll collaborate with leadership, staff, and the board to strengthen our brand, drive engagement, and support fundraising, partnerships, and student recruitment. Key Responsibilities
Brand & Marketing Strategy
- Develop and maintain a strong, consistent brand identity across all communications.
- Create and manage marketing materials (e.g., press kits, brochures, fact sheets, digital content).
- Lead the development of an annual marketing strategy and budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage email marketing campaigns, editorial calendars, and multi-channel messaging.
Public Relations & Media Management
- Develop and implement a PR strategy to secure media coverage and raise awareness.
- Write and distribute press releases, thought leadership articles, and case studies.
- Identify and pitch compelling stories to media outlets.
- Oversee media outreach, maintain media lists, and coordinate interviews.
- Support promotional events and donor engagement efforts.
Social & Digital Media Management
- Oversee website management and ensure an engaging user experience.
- Develop and execute a social media strategy that drives community engagement.
- Manage social media content creation (with a contractor) across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
- Track and analyze digital performance metrics to optimize campaigns.
- Train staff and board members on marketing best practices and content creation
Education/Computer Proficiency Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.
- Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience with social media platforms, email marketing (MailChimp, HubSpot, Constant Contact), and web analytics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with design tools like Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop is a plus.
- Nonprofit experience preferred.

- Excellent oral/written communication, editing and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with the latest public relations trends and best practices
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a cross-functional environment and communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects with varying deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Solid computer skills, including MS Excel, web analytics and Google Adwords.
