Position Summary

As Development Director, you’ll be a key leader, designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support our mission and expand our impact. You’ll diversify revenue streams, foster robust relationships with partners, sponsors, donors, and volunteers, and manage a dynamic grants pipeline. You’ll also oversee the planning and execution of events and fundraisers, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and maximize engagement.

You’ll work closely with the executive team and board members to ensure alignment with organizational goals and long-term sustainability. Your leadership will help shape the future of HYPE and the communities we serve.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Strategic Fundraising: Develop and lead multi-faceted fundraising strategies, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, multi-year grants, special events, and innovative revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Revenue Diversification: Identify and pursue new opportunities, exploring creative fundraising approaches and strategic partnerships.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, partners, and volunteers. Serve as the primary contact for high-level stakeholders.
  • Grant Management: Oversee the grants pipeline—identify opportunities, prepare proposals, and ensure compliance with grant requirements through timely reporting.
  • Event & Fundraiser Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute engaging fundraising events and activities that align with strategic goals and inspire supporters.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Engage, motivate, and manage volunteers, integrating them into fundraising activities and recognizing their contributions.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with the executive team and board to align fundraising strategies with organizational goals. Provide leadership and support to development staff and volunteers.
  • Team Management: Manage staff and contractors who support the development team’s goals and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record of successful fundraising in a non-profit setting, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grant writing.
  • Experience in planning and executing events and fundraisers.
  • Strong understanding of revenue diversification strategies and relationship-building techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required), MA (a plus)
  • Internal motivation to initiate donor visits, email follow-ups, and fundraising calls.
  • Enjoys working in a small and high energy environment setup for growth

Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $64,167 – $83,833; commensurate with experience
