Position Summary

As Development Director, youโ€™ll be a key leader, designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support our mission and expand our impact. Youโ€™ll diversify revenue streams, foster robust relationships with partners, sponsors, donors, and volunteers, and manage a dynamic grants pipeline. Youโ€™ll also oversee the planning and execution of events and fundraisers, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and maximize engagement.

Youโ€™ll work closely with the executive team and board members to ensure alignment with organizational goals and long-term sustainability. Your leadership will help shape the future of HYPE and the communities we serve.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Strategic Fundraising: Develop and lead multi-faceted fundraising strategies, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, multi-year grants, special events, and innovative revenue-generating initiatives.
  • Revenue Diversification: Identify and pursue new opportunities, exploring creative fundraising approaches and strategic partnerships.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, partners, and volunteers. Serve as the primary contact for high-level stakeholders.
  • Grant Management: Oversee the grants pipelineโ€”identify opportunities, prepare proposals, and ensure compliance with grant requirements through timely reporting.
  • Event & Fundraiser Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute engaging fundraising events and activities that align with strategic goals and inspire supporters.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Engage, motivate, and manage volunteers, integrating them into fundraising activities and recognizing their contributions.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with the executive team and board to align fundraising strategies with organizational goals. Provide leadership and support to development staff and volunteers.
  • Team Management: Manage staff and contractors who support the development teamโ€™s goals and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record of successful fundraising in a non-profit setting, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and grant writing.
  • Experience in planning and executing events and fundraisers.
  • Strong understanding of revenue diversification strategies and relationship-building techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree (required), MA (a plus)
  • Internal motivation to initiate donor visits, email follow-ups, and fundraising calls.
  • Enjoys working in a small and high energy environment setup for growth

Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $64,167 – $83,833; commensurate with experience
